Conversation with a Dog About Conceptual Art

In collaboration with the dog Bublik

Helsinki, Finland

2021

Ilya Orlov and his dog friend Bublik's improvised conversation about Conceptual art, discussing Joseph Kosuth, Marcel Broodthaers, and finally agreeing on the point of Art&Language. The conversation marks the conceptual artist's shift towards the animal turn (references to Brian Massumi, human-non-human-relationships etc. will follow). Bublik is a rescue dog from Vyborg, living in Helsinki since 2020. 'Bublik' (Russian, Ukrainian) means 'bagel'.
