A Piece of Art was a graphic mural consisted of a sequence of six ‘propositions’:
-
Malevich’s Black Square is neither about black nor about a square.
-
Duchamp’s Fountain is neither about a fountain nor about a urinal.
-
Kosuth’s One and Three Chairs is not about chairs.
-
Magritte’s The Treachery of Images is not about a pipe.
-
Manzoni’s Artist’s Shit is neither about shit nor about canned goods.
-
As Malevich’s Black Square is neither about black nor about a square; Duchamp’s Fountain is neither about a fountain nor about a urinal; Kosuth’s One and Three Chairs is not about chairs; Magritte’s The Treachery of Images is not about a pipe; Manzoni’s Artist’s Shit is neither about shit nor about canned goods, a piece of art is never about anything.
